Q: How old must you be to apply?
A: New York's legal ages laws establish an "age of majority" of 18 at which an individual is legally considered an adult. If it’s good enough for our great state, it’s good enough for us too!
Q: Is the application deposit refundable?
A: If something goes wrong with your application, then we are happy to refund the deposit. The fee, however is not refundable after we run credit.
Q: Who needs a cosigner?
A: We work with different landlords and they have different preferences. Generally, the weaker your credit history and asset base is, the more likely that you will need an instate guarantor.
Q: You have a property I want to rent. How do I apply?
A: We’re pretty into real estate tech. Applications are handled online through our software.
Q: How do I pay rent?
A: We’re going to emphasize the real estate tech again here. Applications are handled online through our software. Here’s the link: Application
Q: I want to get a pet. What do I do?
A: Hold off until you move. We love pets but not if you didn’t start with one.
Q: I want to move out, but my roommate wants to stay. What do I do?
A: Roommates can be great and they can also be the reason to move… it’s all a case by case basis.
Q: My lease expiration is coming and I want to move out. What do I do?
A: Let us know as soon as you decide to move on. We are going to need a Certificate of Insurance (COI) from your mover naming the building owner and WayFinderPM as additional insured. Your mover will know what that jargon means.
Q: Who is responsible for paying for repairs & maintenance requests?
A: This can be a thorny question. Luckily before you even move in, our lease does a pretty good job nailing down who pays for what.
